1982 Summer Sunday Harwich Boat Train

The Summer of 1982 will be long remembered for the mass cancelation of trains due to industrial action. Consequently the Summer Sunday Harwich Boat Train only ran on fourteen of its seventeen scheduled dates. Stratford allocatted Class 47's again predominated, the most notable being 47579 "JAMES NIGHALL G.C." on 20th June. Exceptions were Gateshead allocatted 47536 on 25th July and Swansea Landore allocatted 47482 on 29th August.

The coaching stock formation was again TSO, TSO, TSO, BSO, FK, TSO, TSO (7).
