The 1972 edition of 'The Coaching Stock of British Railways' listed ninety-five GWR design Gangwayed Passenger Brakes. These included examples from nine different lots built to five different diagrams during the Collett and Hawksworth eras. Listed here are all of these along with the others built to the same diagrams, this taking place from 1934 until 1951. A total of 155 were built in this period. Many continued to see use until the late 1970's, in later years they were used for general parcels traffic and as a consequence some had their gangways removed.
