In the early 1970's a small number of GWR design Travelling Post Office Vans were still in use. Curiously none of the survivors were then in use on Western Region TPOs'! Only these and others from the lots to which they were built are listed.

Sorting Van

Built: 1929 Lot number: 1430 Diagram: L.18 Total: 3

Built for the Great Western TPO. Transferred in 1960 to Southern Region (SED) and used on the London Bridge-Dover TPO.

Built for the Great Western TPO. 814 was destroyed at Hay Lane, Swindon in 1940 and an identical replacement built. 812 & 813 transferred in 1960 to Southern Region (SED) and used on the London Bridge-Dover TPO.

Built as a replacement for the original 814 destroyed at Hay Lane, Swindon in 1940. Transferred in 1960 to Southern Region (SED) and used on the London Bridge-Dover TPO.

Built: 1947 Lot number: 1719 Diagram: L.25 Total: 5

Built for Great Western TPO. In 1960 843 & 845 were transferred to the North Eastern Region, 844 to the London Midland Region and 846 & 847 to the Southern Region (SWD) and used on the Waterloo-Weymouth TPO.
