One less locomotive hauled West Country Summer Saturday in each direction ran compared with the previous summer. This being as a consequence of the withdrawal of the overnight 23:30 Glasgow Central - Paignton and return 08:33 Paignton-Glasgow Central. Also, the day time Glasgow Central - Paignton and Manchester Paignton switched paths giving more convenient departure times for holiday makers.
