The Class 55 ‘Deltic’ locomotives rarely visited English seaside holiday resorts, other than Cleethorpes, on timetabled or relief trains. However, during their last three Summers on the East Coast Main Line, after HST’s had started to be introduced, this changed. This feature gives details of visits during those Summers to Skegness, the Yorkshire Wolds Coast and Scarborough via Malton.
Clicking on the links below takes you to each resorts page where a list of visits can be found. Any additions clarifications and corrections would be welcomed, as would information about any other earlier visits. Please forward these to Peter Hall
