During April 1973 3078 which would later become DB966506 made a short visit to Swindon Works.  It is pictured there on the 7th.  Neil Phillips	ADB966506 at Doncaster Depot on 1st February 1976.  It seems that for a short period in early 1976 this carried a T prefix rather than an A prefix.  Adrian Booth

3078 was withdrawn from Thornaby Depot in November 1972.  'The Railway Observer' (June 1973 p.191) reports that it moved to Swindon Works on 6th April 1973. The photograph above was taken the following day and clearly shows that the coupling rods had been removed.  This doesn't support the comment that it was noted shunting opposite the scrap yard on that date.  By 29th April 1973 3078 had reached Doncaster Depot where conversion took place.  The first report of it being fitted with a snowplough blade was on the 6th October  1973. Actual re-numbering probably took place in December 1973 as it still carried the number 3078 on 25th November 1973.  It would appear that for a short time in early 1976 the A prefix was replaced with a T. It spent its entire life as a Snowplough based at Doncaster Depot. Scrapped at Doncaster Works in 1979.
