Withdrawn from Norwich December 1971. To Shipbreaking (Queenborough), Queenborough, Kent, during July 1972; exported to Siderurgica Spa, Montirone, Brescia, August 1972; disused by August 1996; IRS 6BRD records it as dismantled and used for spares by June 2003 but was still present two months later when the photographs below were taken.
Some British references record this locomotive as being exported to Stabilmento ISA, Ospitaletto, Brescia, Italy, August 1972 and then moving on to Siderurgica Spa, Montirone, Brescia. No evidence has yet been discovered indicating that this actually happenned.
