D2033
Ex BR Diesel Shunting Locomotives Exported to Italy - top page
Ex BR Class 03s & Class 04s exported in 1972 to Italy
This was the first member of the Class to be built with the 'Flower Pot' style of exhaust. Withdrawn from Norwich December 1971. To Shipbreaking (Queenborough), Queenborough, Kent, during July/early August 1972 although no sightings of it there have emerged. Exported to Siderurgicia Spa, Montirone, Brescia, Italy, August 1972. Still in use, July 2004. This was thought to have been the last Class 03 existing in Italy until the discovery of the one plinthed at Terlizzi. Careful examination of photographs has concluded that they are different locomotives.
