Grouping Design Passenger Carrying Carriages -1970's Survivors Disposals

The 1972 edition of 'The Coaching Stock of British Railways' listed ten Gresley design and both of the Thompson design Buffet Cars as still being in use. Amazingly, with the exception of one of the Thompson Cars, all have survived. In addition to the ten Gresley design a further seventeen are listed which were built to the same diagrams but had been condemned before 1972.
