Grouping Design Passenger Carrying Carriages -1970's Survivors Disposals
The 1972 edition of 'The Coaching Stock of British Railways' listed twenty-nine of the post-war LMSR Period III Sleeping Cars in stock. A total of fifty, twenty-five of each class had been built. The remaining First Class Cars were taken out of use soon after whilst a number of the Second Class Cars continued to be used for several more years. All fifty cars built are listed.

Whilst likely it did spend some time in the Potteries, possibly the Longton yard of Reid Freight Services, it never reached the Tanat Valley Railway and is therefore presumed to have been scrapped. Disposal to J. Watson Sons, Stafford has been suggested. If anyone has any further details about the disposal of this coach could they please make contact. |
